Chara Karavia

Chara Karavia Αdministrative officer Chara Karavia is an experienced administrator and social scientist specializing in student support and project management. She is currently responsible for the administrative supervision of the Master’s Program in Cultural Informatics and Communication and works at the University’s Career Office, where she monitors the absorption of graduates into the labor market. Ms. Karavia holds a degree in Sociology (University of Crete), a degree in Social Work (Democritus University of Thrace), and a master’s degree in Social & Historical Anthropology (University of the Aegean). Her professional experience spans more than 15 years, including important roles in the management of EU-funded research programs and the coordination of social intervention programs for the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Her expertise combines academic administration with deep experience in social research and educational consulting.
Stavros Stavridis

Stavros Stavridis Information Technology (IT) and Communications Services Stavros Stavridis is an IT Specialist and Researcher with extensive experience in systems administration and web technologies. He currently works within the Information Technology and Communications Services of the University of the Aegean, where he manages cPanel hosting environments, LDAP directory services, and the Digital Signatures Management System (Docutracks). Ideally combining technical expertise with academic research, Mr. Stavridis has been a member of the Privacy Engineering and Social Informatics Laboratory (PrivaSI Lab) since 2017. His research focuses on privacy in cloud computing, information security, and the application of 3D technologies in culture. He has contributed to funded research projects such as “Cloud-InSPiRe” and “e-Aegean CulTour” and is a certified ISO 27001:2022 Lead Auditor. He holds an M.Sc. in Cultural Informatics and Communication (Design of Digital Cultural Products) and a B.Sc. in Cultural Technology and Communication from the University of the Aegean.
Panagiotis Kargas

Panagiotis Kargas Manager of Informatics Laboratories Panagiotis Kargas was born in Mytilene. He graduated from the Physics Department of the University of Crete. Until 1994, he worked in the private sector. Until 1997, he worked in secondary education as an IT teacher. Until 2000, he worked at the University of the Aegean in the Department of Social Anthropology, and since then he has been working in the Department of Cultural Technology & Communication, as a Special Technical Laboratory Staff Member (E.T.E.P.). Responsibilities: responsible for the organisation, installation and support of computer labs, support for department users in the use of computers, installation and support of technical equipment for teaching offices, as well as the study, development, maintenance, and management of the department’s local network infrastructure.
Theofanis Kaitazis

Theofanis Kaitazis Senior administrative officer in the secretariat Theofanis Kaitazis is Deputy Secretary of the Department of Cultural Technology and Communication. Theofanis Kaitazis is a senior administrator with extensive experience in university administration. He is currently Deputy Secretary of the Department of Cultural Technology and Communication, as well as Deputy Secretary of the Secretariat of the Senate of the University of the Aegean. He holds a master’s degree in Cultural Informatics and Communication (University of the Aegean) and a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and Social Sciences (University of Crete). Since joining the University in 2000, Mr. Kaïtzis has specialized in administrative modernization, obtaining certifications in digital governance, human resource management, and crisis management. His expertise ensures the effective operation of the department’s academic programs and compliance with institutional frameworks.
Asimina Tsouplaki

Asimina Tsouplaki Marketing, Communications, and ESG professional She is a graduate of the Department of Geography of the University of the Aegean, she holds a master’s degree (MSc) in Energy, Environmental Technology and Economics from the City University of London and an MBA (Master in Business Administration) from the University of Kentucky, US. She is a Ph.D. candidate at the Department of Cultural Technology and Communication of the University of the Aegean on the subject: Privacy and Security issues arise from the Internet of Cloud (IoC). She has 10 years of experience in multinational companies involved in the design, study, and implementation of major Sustainability projects, corporate and social responsibility actions (CSR actions), and B2B marketing in Greece and abroad.
