About the M.Sc.

The M.Sc. Program in Digital Circular Economy was established as part of the European project 3D-CIRCULAR (Digital Deep tech Driven Circular Economy) project, which began in August 2025, has a duration of four (4) years, and is co-funded by the European Union through the DIGITAL-2024-ADVANCED-DIGITAL-07 program (Contract No. 101226256). Specifically, the costs of organizing and operating the MSc program, including tuition fees for students from EU countries, for the first two (2) cycles of the MSc program are covered by the funding of this project.

Subject of the M.Sc.

The focus of the Master's Program in «Digital Circular Economy» is on the interdisciplinary combination of advanced digital technologies with the principles of the circular economy.

The purpose of the M.Sc.

The operation of the M.Sc. Program is considered necessary and important from both a scientific and social perspective, as it contributes to addressing contemporary challenges and is aligned with strategic priorities at the international, European, and national levels.

The M.Sc. Program in "Digital Circular Economy" is designed to offer its graduates a unique combination of digital and "green" skills. The main objective is to reskill and upskill the workforce – both young talent and current professionals – in digital technologies and circular economy practices, helping to close the skills gap and develop a thriving digital circular economy in the EU.

The M.Sc. Program focuses on applied knowledge, offering a clear bridge between theory and practice: students are trained to design, implement, and evaluate solutions that utilize digital tools to achieve circular economy goals (e.g., resource optimization, waste reduction, product life cycle monitoring, digital product passports, circular business models). Thus, the program addresses a contemporary scientific gap, where knowledge about the circular economy and green policies is rarely linked to high-level digital analysis and design techniques.

Furthermore, the M.Sc. program is designed to be professionally oriented: through courses, workshops, case studies, and collaborations with businesses and organizations, it cultivates specific professional profiles (e.g., digital transformation executives for the circular economy, sustainable production consultants, ESG & sustainability reporting executives, green innovation executives). In this way, it transforms theoretical knowledge into convertible skills that are directly applicable in the labor market, in industrial sectors such as manufacturing, energy, agriculture, waste management, transportation, and construction.

Master’s Degree

The M.Sc. Program awards a Master of Science Diploma in "Digital Circular Economy" (Master of Science (M.Sc.) in "Digital Deep Tech Driven Circular Economy").

The Master’s Degree Certificate (diploma) is an official public document, the format of which is determined by decision of the Senate. It is drawn up and awarded in both Greek and English. Master’s Degree Programmes lead to a qualification at Level 7 of the European Qualifications Framework (EQF) and the National Qualifications Framework (NQF). The diploma is signed by the Rector, the Head of the Department, and the Department Secretary. The grade of the diploma is classified as follows: 5.00–6.49 GOOD, 6.50–8.49 VERY GOOD, and 8.50–10.00 EXCELLENT. The register of M.Sc. graduates is signed by the Department Secretary, the Head of the Department, and the Rector of the University. A Diploma Supplement, issued in both Greek and English, is attached to the diploma in accordance with the provisions of Article 15 of Law 3374/2005 (Government Gazette A’ 189) and Ministerial Decision Ref. No. Φ5/89656/Β3/13.8.07 (Government Gazette B’ 1466).
