Ingrid Chieh Yu

Ingrid Chieh Yu is an associate professor in the Department of Informatics at the University of Oslo. She has researched the design and rigorous analysis of concurrent, distributed, context-aware, and dynamically evolving systems, employing both model-driven and data-driven techniques. Yu served as Deputy Director of the SIRIUS Centre, a research-based innovation centre dedicated to scalable data access within the energy sector. The centre’s research activities concentrate on the development of scalable and sustainable methodologies, technologies, and tools that enable industrial stakeholders to efficiently access, analyse, and exploit heterogeneous and complex data sources. Yu’s current research portfolio encompasses explainable artificial intelligence, the development of digital product passports, and the systematic characterization of energy consumption from the foundation to the software development tools. In addition to her university teaching, Yu has experience in the design and implementation of industry-academia mentoring programs that foster the development of early-career talent and facilitate long-term collaboration between industry and academia.
