Elena Demosthenous

Elena Demosthenous is a Head Standards Officer at the Cyprus Organisation for Standardisation (CYS) with expertise in quality management, healthcare, occupational and consumer health & safety, and food. She has over 20 years of experience in standardisation and certification, both at CYS and as an associate of the Cyprus Certification Company (CCC). She is the National Member of the Technical Board of the European Standardisation Organisation (CEN), which is responsible for managing the work of all CEN Technical Standardisation Committees. She actively participates in a number of European and International Technical Standardisation committees and at national level she manages several committees responsible for the development of national or private standards and technical specifications. Elena is a certified trainer in topics such as Standards and Standards Development, Healthcare, Patient Satisfaction and safety, Quality management, Occupational and Consumer Safety, CE Marking, Use of standards in Public tenders, etc. She is also a Certified Lead Auditor for Quality Management Systems and Environmental Management Systems in a variety of sectors including chemicals, healthcare, manufacturing, food and services. She is also actively involved since 2007 in hospital accreditation surveys with an ISQua accredited organization.
