Francisco Chicano

Francisco Chicano is a Full Professor at the University of Málaga, where he has held teaching responsibilities since 2006. He has authored more than 150 publications in international conferences, journals, and book chapters. His research has been recognized with six Best Paper Awards and eight additional Best Paper nominations at international conferences. Dr. Chicano has participated in over ten research projects and more than fifteen collaboration contracts with industry partners. He has supervised four PhD theses and is currently supervising three more. He serves on the editorial boards of four international journals in the areas of artificial intelligence, software systems, and optimization, and has undertaken various organizational and reviewing roles in international scientific events. His research contributions span combinatorial optimization, AI applied to software engineering, and, more recently, quantum computing.

The M.Sc. «Digital Circular Economy» was established as part of the European project 3D-CIRCULAR (Digital Deep tech Driven Circular Economy) which began in August 2025, has a duration of four (4) years, and is co-funded by the European Union through the IGITAL-2024-ADVANCED-DIGITAL-07 program (Contract No. 101226256).
