Christos-Nikolaos Anagnostopoulos

Prof. Christos-Nikolaos Anagnostopoulos is a Professor of Informatics at the Department of Cultural Technology and Communication of the University of the Aegean. He is the Director of the Intelligent Systems Laboratory and Director of the Intelligent Computer Systems MSc Programme. He holds a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens. His research interests include computer vision, computer graphics, artificial intelligence, 3D reality modeling and digitization, and mixed reality technologies, with a strong focus on applications in Cultural Informatics and Digital Culture. Since 2003, he has taught undergraduate and postgraduate courses related to Digital Culture, including programmes such as Cultural Informatics, Digital Culture, and Monuments Management. He has participated in 21 European and national funded research projects, serving as university project leader in ten of them. His work includes multimodal geometric documentation of monuments, digital documentation of excavations using advanced sensing technologies, 2D and 3D digitization of cultural heritage, mixed reality applications, digital storytelling, serious games, and the development of cultural portals and repositories.
