Ο Carlo Abate είναι κάτοχος διδακτορικού (PhD) στην Αστροφυσική από το Radboud University Nijmegen και μεταπτυχιακού τίτλου (Master) στην Τεχνητή Νοημοσύνη από το Italian National Research Council. Η εξειδίκευσή του περιλαμβάνει την ανάλυση δεδομένων, την υπολογιστική μοντελοποίηση και τη μηχανική μάθηση.
Από τότε που εντάχθηκε στη Deep Blue το 2019, έχει συμβάλει σε αρκετά ευρωπαϊκά έργα χρηματοδοτούμενα από τα προγράμματα H2020 και SESAR, τα οποία επικεντρώνονται στην αεροπορία, τις επιπτώσεις της κλιματικής αλλαγής, την αξιολόγηση κινδύνου, την ενοποίηση μεταφορών και την πρόβλεψη τροχιών εναέριας κυκλοφορίας. Έχει επίσης εργαστεί ως senior consultant συνεργαζόμενος με αεροδρόμια και την EUROCONTROL. Μιλά άπταιστα ιταλικά, αγγλικά και γερμανικά.
